For Jake, Buhurt is more than a sport, it's a community, a challenge, and a way of bringing history to life. Having spent the last 2–3 years involved in the Australian Buhurt scene, including around 18 months as an active fighter, he has developed a strong appreciation for the dedication, resilience, and camaraderie that define the sport.
Although a ruptured ACL currently keeps him out of the arena, Jake remains committed to the growth of the team and the wider Buhurt community. Alongside his involvement in combat sports, he has spent over four years in historical reenactment, where he maintains his own medieval persona and heraldry, pursuing a passion for history and living medieval culture.
